Once upon a time...

Once upon a time, an ENG 2155 student tried to cross a bridge. A troll blocked her path.
“Move it, ugly,” the student said.
“Three tasks you must perform,” the troll said. “First, create a blog for me.”
“Is that all?”
The student took a MacBook from her backpack and used her wireless broadband card to access Blogger.com. Seconds later, the troll was blogging away on “Trolls rule” – LSC-troll.blogspot.com.
“A podcast now you must make for me.”
The student recorded the troll on her Olympus DS-40, transferred the sound to her MacBook and uploaded the mp3 file to Gcast.com. A few more clicks and the “Trollcast” was available for downloading at the blog.
“A slideshow your last task is,” the troll said.
The student took a Canon Rebel from her backpack and snapped 10 photos of the troll posing on the bridge. She loaded the pics onto her MacBook, resized them in Photoshop and used Picasa to plant the slideshow on the troll’s blog.
“Trolls rule” was an immediate hit. Page views skyrocketed. Money from ads poured in.
The troll handed the LSC student a bag of gold in appreciation.
She started across the bridge and a huge bird swooped down and snatched away the bag of gold.

Moral: ENG 2155 Intro to Multimedia Storytelling might not make you rich, but it will come in handy when you encounter trolls.
